iCountability Corp. releases its ibAcus v. 3.2.11 inventory counting software, a package loaded with new features

Saint John, NB

Anticipating what customers need and acting nimbly on feature requests enables iCountability to consistently offer customers a product that arguably tops the list of available inventory-counting software.  In the present release, iCountability  continues to offer up ground-breaking innovation, enabling users both great and small to be better at what they do.  The stream of beta releases in the past few months have been aimed at supporting a broadened scope for their  ibAcus inventory counting software.  Aimed at breaking down barriers to growth,  ibAcus 3.2.11 offers increasingly practical ways for coping with varied inventory count situations.  Professional and multiple-site administrators will likely be most interested in the new Data Management component, which has grown out of beta and now boasts report generation and report storage directly to an FTP site.  Printing of bar codes and support for scan-able location markers comes standard.  Those involved in single or multiple-site count management, where bar coding is in its infancy (or perhaps non-existent), will want to check out the  feature enabling the linking of specific items to specific locations.  This feature allows users to cross-reference onscreen data with actual on-location items without even triggering a scan; a counter can select a code by location and key in specific quantity.  Whatever the situation, the development of inventory solutions for industry specific needs is what the team at iCountability does best, supporting their customers and building on their ideas.   More complete information on these and other features is available on the company website at  icountability.com

iCountability strengthens ibAcus 3.1.1 inventory counting software (stocktaking) by adding features, isolating resources, and making more reporting options available.

Saint John, NB

This version (3.1.1) adds support for creating custom flags, which can be attached to a count and used to selectively single out inventory items, while at the same time extending querying ability and adding support for querying on flags. Flagging individual inventory items with user-defined flags at data entry time gives each count staffer the ability to assign descriptives like “opened”, “outdated” or “near expiry” to inventory items, which can later be reported on and removed from the count, if desired.

The addition of enhanced resource management, with support for creating and linking to multiple resource views provides complete resource isolation for multi-site counting. The new resource management features also deals with scalability problems - now customers can manage virtually thousands of sites and counts, all within the ibAcus framework. Further enhancing the software, support has now been added to allow saving of generated reports in HTML, PDF and Excel file formats, which will be a welcome feature for many.

This is the first in a series of releases targeting obstacles to growth for inventory companies and multi-site vendors. Improvements featured in this release will tie in to upcoming releases which will focus on other scalability issues, directly dealing with and solving "obstacles to growth" problems common in large multi-site counting firms.

Giving more bang for the buck while simultaneously laying groundwork for a new data management tool, iCountability continues to mature ibAcus while giving end-users even more power where it counts. The firm builds premium solutions at its headquarters in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada's first incorporated city.

Software firm iCountability announces ibAcus major release, version 3.0.9.

Saint John, NB

The development team at iCountability is pleased to announce the release of a major update to its data-collection package with the release of ibAcus 3.0 . This major update follows hard on the heels of a minor update in early October of 2008, and continues to fortify this purpose-built software with additional features and usability. Chief among them are a new report template for variance by location, the ability to specify quantity and dollar count limits for each user, support for downloading code set information to devices, error message generation for codes not on file, and misplaced stock error reporting on Windows CE devices.

This information-gathering software is a unique tool for helping professionals or laymen count physical inventory. Whether for financial, bar code, SKU counting, or a mixture of the three, for financial statements, cycle counts, determination of theft and shrink, or location of lost inventory, ibAcus collects, manages and maintains records independently for any number of counts, counting staff and sites in a way that is both user-friendly and auditable, employing the up-to-date technology users want.
The ibAcus package, supported by its CServer, iCounter, and iReporter components, provides easy-to- use tools for performing inventory counts in diverse settings. Giving more control and precision to users at every level, ibAcus 3.0 continues to build on all the features customers know and love from ibAcus 2.0 . The wireless support provides live software updates without cradling, and on-the-fly data synchronization with instantly verifiable data delivery. The iReporter component continues to build convenient, well-formated reports and can be distributed for free to third parties, giving inventory service firms, their customers, and in-house inventory managers the power to share data and build reports at any time, even while a count is active. Real time reporting of “not on file” items makes inventory agents instantly aware a code is not in the system or that they have scanned the wrong code when more than one code is present on an item. The ability to seamlessly map on-hand inventory items to specific locations and report misplaced items at time of scan gives count administrators a powerful tool for finding those items that show up as “on hand”, but are not in the correct bin location. Variances can be reported on at anytime, providing instant feedback on dollar-differential between system or “on-hand” inventory and actual inventory. Users can merge raw inventory data with new inventory code data, thus ensuring old barcode information is never lost, and the aggregate-cost reporting capability allows users to associate multiple costs/components within a single bar code scan.

The integrated-script interface enables import of multiple file formats, so whether you are a single user or a professional inventory firm, you now have the ability to cope with any type of inventory data and do lookups and reports on key fields. Simply put, you can import the cost, retail, on-hand, description, and other data without regard to its format and use it in your count. This extremely versatile interface works with data for scanned counting of any sort, so field managers don't need to understand the technical aspect of the script, they just need select the correct button to import the data.

Always striving to improve product offerings, iCountability responds to customer feedback and industry requirements, building its premium software solutions in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.

Software firm iCountability announces a major mid-term update, ibAcus 2.5.2.

Saint John, NB With two releases in less than two years, developers at iCountability Corp. have answered the challenge to produce software that makes back-end data collection easy , efficient, and safe.  Now they have announced a major mid-term update of their inventory counting software that brings an even easier-to-use product to the workplace.  Strengthening the framework of ibAcus 2.0 released earlier this year, ibAcus 2.5.2 enhances usability while building new features and enabling people to do more with less perplexity.

Users will notice those expanded capabilities in the area of reporting, particularly with respect to reports, where support now exists for attaching generalized reporting templates to profiles and counts.  If the available report types don't suit your requirements, one can be custom-built by our development team in short order.  Reports can now be created from CServer without the need to open iReporter, and they are compressed by default, a time-saver for those who need to compress files that need to be sent through email or posted on an FTP site.

An exciting innovation is the capability of ibAcus to gather multiple pieces of data from a single barcode scan.  With that scan, CServer can break up the cost of the scanned item into multiple departments using linked departments.  Need to keep a separate track of deposits on beverage containers?  Need to assess individual costing to each of several components that comprise a single item? ibAcus can do it.

Transaction logging on count resources will be particularly welcomed by details-oriented staff who like to have a precise accounting of what has gone on during and after the count process.  Find that Joe has been making mistakes all morning and want to remove his count from the record?  The transaction log lets you do it. Inadvertently remove Jack's count instead? The log allows you to add it back in.  Try to make an adjustment on a single item and find you've deleted the entire file instead?  Log to the rescue!  Want to know who accessed the count and what he did?  The transaction log is at your service, and it works on-the-fly.  Simply put, it is a real time-saver.

A real plus for end-users is the launch of “One Button Predictive Scanning” mode, now available on all iCounter CE platforms.  This will be especially welcome in situations where there are many single quantities because it saves repetitive keystrokes and reduces chances for user error.  Another plus is the ability to merge old and new codesets via a simple one-click operation, allowing users to update and consolidate information without losing data that is still relevant.

Information on these and other features is available in fully documented guides on our website at www.icountability.com, or by emailing sales@icountability.com
